UGGHHHHHH MY EFFING SINUSES. B| My head's felt stuffy and icky ever since Thursday night and I CAN'T SHAKE IT COMPLETELY AUGH.
/whining. Does not feel any better.
I went to Gamestop today to pick up a Phoenix Wright game for the sisters, but they wanted $15 for a used game cartridge with no manual or box. Yeah, no. But since I was over there anyway, I went ahead and pre-ordered two copies of RE: Mercs. And abruptly shot the guy down when he tried to talk me into L.A. Noire. No me gusta Rockstar Games, all right.

underworldwars and was accepted last week, but I'm very glad to see all the revival efforts over at dissideo. I HAVE FAITH IN THEM AND THIS GAME. ♥
Also, I love looking at the My Guests thing to see who all visits my LJ. Doubly amusing since I don't recognize half the people, aha.
AHAHAHA AND. AND. While bedridden last week, I happened to spot my Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy novel on my shelf and thought OH HEY it's been a long, long time since I read that and I've forgotten all of the fail in it, so I'll reread it!
Which I did.
N-Novel!Wesker. NOVEL!WESKER. I DON'T REMEMBER BEING THIS SHOCKED AND "WTF" ABOUT IT WHEN I READ IT THE FIRST TIME AROUND YEEEAARS AGO, but good God. Apparently his CV version didn't just come out of nowhere, after all.
I can't. Even begin to recount all the WTFery, but I laughed out loud at that whole episode of "HE RAN INTO A ZOMBIE OF THAT STUPID BIOTCH WHO TURNED HIM DOWN EVERY TIME HE ASKED HER OUT B| SO HE SHOOT HER DEAD ANDSMILED GRINNED WHILE DOING IT WITH HIS WITTY DIALOGUE." J-Just. Ahahahaaaaa. And it actually said that he LIKED BLONDES, ESPECIALLY SMART ONES (lmao especially? If he had an interest in women at all, it'd be ONLY the smart ones, wouldn't you think) and the way he was just SO BITTER ABOUT HER TURNING HIM DOWN PFFFFFF X'DDD
And seriously. He grinned all. The time. And out of nowhere. Terrifying.
OH -- but OH -- the stupidest thing was when he was chillaxin' in Spencer's office and he happened to notice some of the books on the shelf. One titled cDNA Libraries and Electrophoresis Methods. The other, Phagemids: Complimentary Alpha Vectors. And dude.
It said He struggled to understand the titles.
S-Struggled to. Understand.
WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. cDNA AND PHAGEMIDS
THAT IS THE 101 LEVEL OF BIOTECHNOLOGY/GENETICS.
AND HE DID NOT EVEN RECOGNIZE THE TERMS, LET ALONE UNDERSTAND THEM.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.
I just. Sat there with the book open for a good minute. Unable to believe. Obviously, the author just Googled "genetics" and made up titles with the first keywords she found, unaware that these are among the MOST SIMPLISTIC CONCEPTS IN THE FIELD. God. If you don't know that much, idk what you're doing anywhere near Umbrella.Still, Googling that much was more than what Anderson ever did.
Of course, by the end I realized that novel!Wesker is not a genius scientist (SO SHOCKING), but rather some lackey looking to get paid who really has no solid tie to Umbrella beyond being a hired gun. And I'm not gonna start on my confusion about the Tyrant. KINDA HOPING SHE DOESN'T DO A RE5 NOVEL, because creepin'-perv-I-like-blondes!Wesker getting his hands on P30'd-and-blonde!Jill would. Noooooot be a pleasant thing to read. :|
/SIGHS. Just. So, so bad. And I know this book was written prior to some of Jill's earlier history being released and I remembered that she was given this life-as-a-thief past, but dude. STFU, YOU DADDY'S GIRL. EVERY OTHER PAGE IT'S SOMETHING ABOUT STEALING WITH YOUR DAD. FOCUS ON THE ZOMBIES, PLZ. OR SOMETHING OTHER THAN THAT O.C. TRENCH COAT DUDE.
Chris was good, though! I guess. I still wonder how he managed to smell Jill's skin on a moving helicopter between four other men and a crapload of guns. I'mma have to pick up the novels for RE2 and RE3 now, though, especially since I've learned that novel!Jill apparently wore the tube top/leather skirt combo on purpose when she got dressed for the zombie apocalypse that day.
Oh, boy.
And dude, that O.C. of hers, Billy someone-or-another. STOP MENTIONING HIM, CHRIS. I THINK YOU SAID HIS NAME IN HERE MORE THAN YOU SAID JILL'S IN RE5.
...THIS IS SAD.
Day 7 - Favorite game couple
Billy Coen and Rebecca Chambers from Resident Evil. The first OTP I found in gaming and one I still support to this day. I just love that whole "we'll call a temporary truce just to survive but OH WAIT we end up genuinely caring about each other" angle, and the way he teases her is just SO CUTE, and he even trusts her enough to let her in on his past a little, even if he never actually denies the charges against him outright. lol I still remember the comment my dad made at the beginning of the game: "You know she's gonna have to turn him in at the end!" To which I was stubbornly like, "Noooooooooo! I can see where this is headed!"
And I know the novels aren't canon, but guh their interactions in RE: Zero Hour were extra adorable, and Billy even hinted that he'd fallen for her -- or could potentially do so -- at the very end, which fed my already ravaging fangirl at the time. <333

Also I am curious about LA Noire. It actually looks good but I've never played a Rockstar game in my life. I've just been going off the trailers that I've seen during my work at Gamestop. xD

Ahaha a trailer came on at the store right as he was telling me about it, so we were watching it. It really does look pretty and awesome, but I just. Can't shake my Rockstar Games bias. I'll check out the reviews once it's out, though.
IT IS PRETTY COOL. The new mods are in the process of getting everything ready, but the basic format is that there's a monthly mass battle log that pits one half of the characters against the other half. In between fights, you can kinda do whatever you want.
LOL srsly. You know, I would actually LIKE novel!Wesker, I think, if not for the sad fact that he's supposed to represent, you know. Wesker. That, I cannot forgive.

I'm looking forward to hearing about it, but I don't know if I'll be able to play it. I bought Bulletstorm and was unable to play it myself as I got motion sick. This year is a great year for video games though. My pre-order list is like... oh man I don't want to think about it. XD; Dead Island looks like a lot of fun though!
Oh wow! Is it like, difficult to keep up with the massive battle logs? I'm really terrible at writing out fighting moves. I'd be so lost through it.
I think he was best in Code: Veronica. I just... I think he had the most hilarious jack ass lines in there. Idk, maybe I it's just me cause I laughed so hard when he suggested he wanted to screw Claire.
