You don't win the battle by doing what's right

SO, I actually found out through someone at Amazon that Best Buy has an awesome deal on Mercs: pre-order it and you get a $10 gift card. Hullo. So I cancelled my pre-orders at Gamestop and ordered them at Best Buy instead, bwahaha. ♥ Hey, man. That's $20 towards my inevitable purchase of Tales of the Abyss in the fall. :| That's srs biznis.

That said, I've been in a gaming funk lately. 8[ I finished Batman: Arkham Asylum (AWESOMEFREAKINGGAMEBTW) and hung around it long enough to get all but the most difficult achievements; I need to get back to Mirror's Edge and Bayonetta, but the former puts me in a bad mood more often than not (my own fault, lmao, since I INSIST on going through without shooting anyone. Very unlike me.), and the latter... idk. It's just. Really feeling more like a chore, the further I go along. It's not hard, but I'm not really enjoying it aside from the occasional "WOO CAPCOM REFERENCE" and "LOL WTF WAS THAT MOVE." It's just so full of male fanservice, and while I normally don't mind (because let's face it, that's just the video game industry in general and I've grown up on it), it's just really obnoxious to the point where I feel like it's going "OH HEY BAYONETTA'S HOT. DID WE MENTION BAYONETTA'S HOT. LET US DEMONSTRATE WHY BAYONETTA'S HOT. DO YOU THINK BAYONETTA'S HOT?" in every aspect of the game. B| Again, I normally just ignore the obvious flaunting of females in my games, but something about this one just irks me. Overall, though, it just hasn't clicked with me like games should.

I'm aware that I need to finish Tales of Vesperia on my profile -- having done it the first and second time on my dad's, so THERE'S A FREE 825 G FOR YA -- but. Ugh. That is one game I do not wanna go through again. If I do, there's no way I'm doing all the extra side BS for costumes and props. I'd just do enough to get the most (easiest) achievements, but aaauuughhhhh Idon'twannaplayitagain. DDDDX It's just so long and tedious and boring in so many areas, especially when you spend more time wandering one area than you do in the Spencer Mansion foyer. v_v If you could turn off the cutscenes, I'd be much more willing to replay it, but I'm lazy and hate even constantly mashing the A button to get through all the dialogue boxes.

I also (STILL) need to start Dead Space; my dad took about 13 hours on his first playthrough, so it's a short game, but I know I won't have time to finish it before the 28th, in which case I won't touch it for another month, at least. |D;

/lol EXCUSES LIKE WOAH. So I've really just been playing RE5!Mercs on and off under the pretense that I'm practicing for Mercs 3D, although my sisters got LEGO Batman and it is seriously so awesome from what we've played so far, hahaha. I keep telling myself I should at least make another go at Chris' story in the original RE, but IT'S HARD AND I'M A WUSS AND HIS STAMINA IN THE ORIGINAL IS NOT WHAT IT IS IN THE REMAKE I keep getting sidetracked like the pseudo-ADHD person I can sometimes be. Instead, I've been burning a lot of time on XNALara, reading, and fanfiction-writing -- the last being a huge improvement activity-wise from a long period of being idle. BUT IT'S SOMETHING.

I really, REALLY hate when people give you "advice" on Mercenaries in RE5. B| I was playing last night with some guy and we got a really good score -- 506K or so -- and he PMs me afterward going "Good work, but to get REALLY good scores, you need lots of extra time. Use a melee to get +5 seconds."

YOU SERIOUSLY THINK I DON'T KNOW THAT MELEE-ING GIVES YOU 5 EXTRA SECONDS? I HAVE HAD THIS GAME SINCE ITS RELEASE. And pfffffff please, I was melee-ing ALL. THE TIME. IN THAT MATCH, STFU I LOVE MELEE ATTACKS. I'M SORRY IF WESKER'S GUN SHOOTS OFF HEADS JUST AS OFTEN AS IT MAKES THEM STUMBLE SO I CAN DO A COBRA STRIKE.

Plus, we got a 150 combo. That is a two man job. You didn't do that by yourself, so I'm obviously competent.

Augh. This is the second or third time someone's done that. It's not that I'm so full of myself -- I know I'm not the best player out there. But that just strikes me as arrogant as heck to go around dishing out ADVICE like that.

tao_empress! Since you're a fellow Disney Geek, I need some input. One of the upcoming events at underworldwars is the following:

The entire Underworld will be changed for this even, when character's wake up the entire Underworld will look like something out of a Disney movie. Character's will find themselves changed as well, suddenly taking on the appearance and personality of various Disney characters. As the event goes on a more sinister twist will begin to unfold as personalities change to match the Disney characters, people will find themselves compelled to act out their new with a darker twist.

Note: An example might be for the first few days a character has the personality/apperance of Ariel from the Little Mermaid, but as time goes on they start to find themselves compelled to act out Hans Christian Andersen's version

NOW. For Jill, my first thought was Helga Sinclair from Atlantis -- both are cool, blonde, and hot, and can use a gun. And have been known to fall from high places because of backstabbing villains. :Db And then backstabbed that villain in turn afterwards. BUT that was just my first thought, and idk what the "drawback" part for her would be. :\ Aside from maybe stealing people's life forces for money. Plus I'd have to canon-review by watching the movie, BUT since I love it, that's not really such a bad thing. So any thoughts on other possibilities?

I'm open to anyone else's opinions, of course -- Tao is just my resident Disney Expert, so she came to mind first.

And sabbato! I have all of the effing Versus achievements except for one, so if you and your buddies wanna do some marathon-ing of Team Survivors sometime, I'm available as an extra body. o/

In my opinion, writing -- let alone releasing -- an anti-troops song painting the men and women in service as monsters should get a person beheaded.

It's one thing if you want to abuse the "free speech" notion like so many people do. But if you insist that you absolutely HAVE to sit and whine on your celebrity perch about something you don't understand, supposedly under the defense that you're representing "wars in general, not a specific one," especially do not do it when this country is in the middle of a war. It's inconsiderate, it's ignorant, and it shows the country what complete douchebags you are.

So in my opinion, idiots like that should be tried with treason. Or at least dragged through the streets. But hey, I'm just an American with a mind and a sense of silly little things like gratitude and loyalty. Perhaps I'm the idiot for not putting down the people who risk their lives for me every day.

So this month's Nintendo Power had a hy00j Resident Evil Mercs spread that I love and can't stop staring at; they claim that there's a final roster of eight characters.

So I got to thinking.

Six have been OFFICIALLY revealed -- Chris, Jill, Claire, HUNK, Wesker, Krauser. That leaves two. Rebecca was recently leaked, and that is TOTES BARRY'S SHADOW IN THE OFFICIAL PROMO POSTER. So if NP is right and those are the only characters--

--I am going to die laughing. If Mr. Leon Poster-Boy Kennedy doesn't make it in? That is hilarious. And I'm a jerk and kind of glad because I am just SO SICK of all his fangirls and fanboys acting like he's the greatest creation evarrrrr. I love the dork myself, but come on. For every mention of RE, you get a hundred "ZOMG LEON ROXORZ!" gushings, and I am TIRED of it, and I just. Would find it downright hilarious and awesome if he got cut out of this game. Not gonna lie. HE HAS DAMNATION AND HIS RE4 RE-RELEASE, ANYWAY. Plus he's not dead. I'd just love to see the Internet have a conniption and explode over it, personally. But I WILL genuinely be sad if there's only eight characters total. I was hoping for Sheva and Billy. 8C And Carlos. I will take any of them over Leon, really. DLC PLZ BUT it's still awesome anyway.

THAT ASIDE, I'm keeping an eye on underworldwars because it is cool and I am still always craving action. :| <3 Don't know if I'll make a transition yet.

And while we finally got 100% of the Achievements in MvC3, I STILL have yet to get Jill's tenth mission but I'VE COME WITHIN THREE MOVES OF DOING SO AND GOSH DARN IT I WILL GET IT YET. >8|

If you haven't seen Capcom's trailer celebrating RE's 15th anniversary yet, go watch. It's epic and cool and WESKER'S NARRATION IS SO CLASSICALLY CHEESY THAT IT IS TOTES 100% RESIDENT EVIL FROM START TO FINISH. XDD They totally should have finished it with "I'LL GIVE YOU S.T.A.R.S.!" Ahhhhhh, I can't wait for these next games, although I realized that we have THREE new ones in the next year, and none of 'em are even RE6, ahaha. Then again, I'm in no rush to see fandumb hate all over it, so whatever. Speaking of, I had an interesting/lol wut convo with my mom on the subject recently.

And then there was when I was playing Versus the other day FINALLY GOT TWO OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS AW YEAH THREE MORE TO GO and I caught sight of a Wesker following me:

Mom: *doing stuff on her computer in the background, but suddenly snerks* Wesker? Nice?
Me: ....Oh, yeah. |D

And my dad's first reaction to learning about Operation Raccoon City? "I wanna play as HUNK!"
