I've said very little on the upcoming live-action RE film -- with good reason -- and what little I've said has been mostly restrained to Plurk. However, with the latest "fight" scene that just popped up, I feel I should do an obligatory .gif-reaction post.

( I didn't think you could get by in Hollywood lacking THIS much quality. )

Now, the only (mainstream) Final Fantasy games I've actually played are X and XIII, and those frustrated me so much that I've decided to save myself some pain by ~~probably~~ never participating in another one. BUT, the games are so freaking pretty and awesome that I do watch my sisters play them off and on; they started FFIX a while back, and I was actually there for most of it, so I'm familiar with about 90% of the story.

They beat the game last night.

Video games: the only thing that can both get me to dance like this and enjoy it.

Say what you like. I have fun with it.

As I play through RE2, there are a few things that I really need to keep in mind:

-THERE IS NO 180-TURN. I MUST STOP FORGETTING THIS EVERY TIME A ZOMBIE GETS UP ON ME.

-I AM NOT JILL. Read: I cannot dodge things except when I manually run around them. ...Which probably means that reflexively button-mashing every time I get grabbed is useless.

-I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT CERBERUS DEAL MORE DAMAGE NOW. Stop trying to dodge and just kill the stupid things. I HAVE ENOUGH AMMO TO SPARE.

Orz I don't know what it is about this game in particular, but fml it's tedious and things need to stop jumping out of pseudo-still background images. ~~Trenchy~~ The Tyrant's going to give me a heart attack at this rate and stop popping up at random, Sherry. You're lucky I'm not in control during cutscenes because I would've shot you by now.

Iiiiiiin other news, I was ~~tricked~~ ~~duped~~ ~~ganged up on~~ ~~tempted~~ ~~enabled~~ talked into joining a new RP game,

dragonhaven -- my first DreamWidth game, no less! In my defense, all I did was post at dear_mun with Trish after moving her journal over and I was immediately jumped by an awesome DMC cast. ;; Who, aside from being awesome, doesn't seem to mind my backtagging tendencies. Excellent.

It seems like a pretty laidback place, and it's considerably brighter in theme than I generally find myself interested in, so that's a nice change of pace. I'm not a total sadist, tyvm. I was just accepted as Trish, and I may app Jill, too. Maybe from a different canon point than usual, just to mix things up? Hmm...

Either way, I figure I've made time for a game on the side since I've pretty much forsaken Bakerstreet; it's full of so much drama now that it's practically a joke. 'B| Not to mention half the memes are sex memes, which I have no interest in (and I swear I see the same one three or four times a week sometimes, wtf), and I play from a lot of obscure series, and a lot of players are rather snooty about refusing to backtag (or about tagging back at ALL), so. Bleh. Unless I'm interacting with RP buddies of mine, it's really not worth it.

...Yes, I know it's like two years old and the sequel just came out, but IDC WE FINALLY FINISHED IT \o/

With RE6 on the horizon, I figure I'll probably do the thing that a lot of people are doing and replay the entire series before it arrives. o7 SO, as a reference list for myself:

...Looking at it like that, it's actually a bit daunting. Until I remember that most of them can be beaten in under ten hours, anyway. I do intend to do each one blank slate -- as in, no carry-over weapons or supplies from previous files (except for alternate costumes in the cases of 0, 1, and 3 because HECK YEAH I LOVE THEM). I'm not sure whether I'll do both Chris' and Jill's stories in RE1 or just one of them, but for RE2, I'll only do the Claire-Leon scenario (as opposed to Claire-Leon AND Leon-Claire). I'm not a huge fan of RE2, okay, so sue me.

I'm actually not sure how I'll handle Outbreak, though; since it's not directly canon, I might do all the other games first and then just kinda screw around with it since it has been forever since I played it and I was positively awful back then, SO.

Overall, three months to beat eleven games, more or less, and watch one movie. RE0 might give me trouble just because it's been so long and I haven't played it as much as the others; I tend to die in RE2 more than any other game in the series; I've only played CV once, too, and AUGH GOD THOSE WESKER LEVELS IN UC I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THEM. B|; Still, even if I just play for a couple hours each night, I should finish with plenty of time to spare.

WELL. As I stated previously, I've been doing my best to avoid news of the upcoming RE live action movie, as well as keeping quiet on what I do see -- BUT APPARENTLY

tao_empress LIKES ME WHEN I'M ANGRY, and since she went to the trouble of linking me to Retribution's E3 trailer, I decided wtf, I'll amuse her because I love her. ♥

SO, I watched said trailer, and typed up my reactions as I was doing so.

( But first, two disclaimers and a Srs Moment. )

The BEST PART about all this, though, was when I was talking with my sisters about it and I again wondered aloud why Wesker didn't just eat Alice if he captured her, since that was his goal for all of the fourth movie -- and then in the next room over, my mom calls in, "Because she wasn't on the menu!"

Moving on, let's go in a different direction: I recently watched a trailer for the new Spider-Man movie, courtesy of my 3DS. Honestly, I hadn't watched anything on the movie since the first or second teaser, waaaaay back when; for whatever reason, this reboot just failed to capture my attention or my heart.

And SPEAKING of Spidey, I finally got around to watching some episodes of the new Spider-Man cartoon on Disney, Ultimate Spider-Man.

...Well... it's not... bad, but... it... definitely needs some work. Like, a ton of work. 8|

It doesn't help that the last Spidey show I watched was Spectacular Spider-Man, which was easily the best Marvel cartoon (if not THE best cartoon, period) that I've ever seen -- so living up to its reputation would be difficult for any show, but Disney... well. It dropped the ball on this one.

And thus, the recent announcement of a new Avengers cartoon, also by Disney -- which will undoubtedly result in the cancellation of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the second best Marvel cartoon ever -- has broken what bit of my heart that the loss of Spectacular Spidey didn't. 8'((( I DON'T EVEN WATCH THAT MUCH TV, DISNEY, SO WHY MUST YOU TAKE AWAY THE FEW THINGS THAT I ENJOY?? >|

On a separate note, I just started my free trial at Gamefly. First up, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, finally. I'm half-considering renting Operation Raccoon City again towards the end of the trial, just so I can get some more achievements and at least see all the cutscenes (since they are pretty, even if Nicholai and Jill and Carlos look rather... eh.), buuuut idk yet. I got so frustrated with that game at times that I'm not sure it's worth it when I could rent something new instead; not to mention I'm irked that I keep seeing more and more DLC for it, making it come off as One Of Those Games that purposely puts very little content in the actual game just to force players to buy more of it.

IDK, but aside from AC, I'm hoping to get my hands on Fatal Frame (ffff WISH ME LUCK GUYS IT WILL PROBABLY GIVE ME NIGHTMARES WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF) and Portal 2. Uhhhh what else... probably some multiplayer games for me and my sisters to co-op, maybe Mario Tennis Open, and OH some dance games for the Wii, since my self-esteem knows no injury and I am totally cool with dancing around like an idiot. Maybe I'll finally give Mass Effect a try, even.

With E3 more or less over (unofficially? ...starting early threw me off, wth), it's time I roped in all my impressions and opinions into one place (at least on the things that left the biggest impressions on me), SO, here we go.

So, uh. I think I just had a dream that actually continued from that weird Matrix/Batman/Final Fantasy dream mix thing from a little bit ago. 8|a

In this one, I'm actually all Matrix'd up in the long black coat and sunglasses gear, lmao, and infiltrating the storehouse of this black market weapons dealer. A little ways in, some guards spot me and a brief chase scene ensues, and I escape because I've got someone on my cell phone who's giving me instructions and directions (idk who, maybe it was Alory or Tao??).

Skip to later, and for some reason I actually have a meeting with the weapons dealer -- who turns out to be my grandma.

...

Yeah, I have no freaking idea, either.

Turns out she's been trying to get ahold of me for a while and I've been avoiding her. Fully aware that I'm ~~Neo~~ The One, she asks how I escaped her guards the last time, and since I don't want to tell her about my phone buddy, I just respond, "...I'm a little special." She asks how I'm special, and I decide not to mention that I can see the Matrix coding; instead, I tell her, "I can move faster than most people. That's how I was able to dodge bullets."

And that's all I remember.

So I finally got around to reading the infamous script for George Romero's version of the Resident Evil movie, and naturally I had to log my reactions as I was reading it.
